สายพานทั้งคู่เป็นขนาด pitch 2mm เท่ากัน  แตกต่างกันที่ยอดของฟัน ซึ่ง GT2 มียอดฟันที่โค้งมากกว่า
(บางเวปบอกว่า GT2 แก้ปัญหาเรื่อง backlash ได้ดีกว่า)
